Beirut - A Sunday Smile (live on the Late Show With David Letterman)
from The Flying Club Cup, released 2007
Zach Condon, in some state of drunkenness, debuts his new band, which apparently consists of something like 32 Vassar students, on television. Condon’s live vocal performances still knock me out completely in a way his records probably never will.
Oh, and he has two new EPs coming out. One is called March of the Zapotec, the other is called Holland and is credited to Realpeople. They, along with the Dark Was the Night compilation to which Beirut contributed a track, will be adding at KWCW in the near future. Next week, perhaps!
